Where are you now?
Since Peter Connolly Kyoshi introduced Ryushinkan to England in 1981, many students have passed through the school - some longer than others. Ryushinkan through its struggle and development have trained and supported over 60 students to achieve their Dan grades.
Many have expressed that their training with the Ryushinkan School has been the most rewarding training they have experienced. Of course every student has their own different desire, energy and goal. As Karate-ka our paths are not always the same. Our life can take us off into many different directions. This is why we have always maintained the aim of always allowing students to develop as individuals and not to suppress their growth.
We have just received contact from a Dan grade who trained with us many years ago. He expressed that he would like to write a comment on the blog. Therefore, we in Ryushinkan invite our old training partners to post up a friendly comment if they wish and let us know where and how they are. Perhaps you have a few memories you would like to share with us by filling in the form below.

Pryderi Diebschlag: Greetings
Dear All,
I trained for several years with Jenny and Tim, and later with Rhys in East Grinstead. A combination of work, travels, university, more travels and currently a post-grad has kept me from Sussex and training but you are never far from my thoughts.
In quiet moments I have practiced Kata in some of the most unlikely places around the world and tried to remember the training. The frustration of spending huge amounts of time paused, pondering steps half-way through a Kata that I once knew so well should not be underestimated.
I hope you are all well. Like Andy I have fond (often post-event) memories of camp, and greatly enjoyed reading the account of September's events. If there is ever the chance of a dojo opening in London, please let me know.

Hi,
I trained under Peter and Rhys between 1987 and 1996, achieving 1st Dan aged 19 in the summer of 1993, when Soke was visiting from Japan. That was a great day, despite being beaten up by Piero and his brother Mario in the kumite section of the grading! I have fond memories of frozen feet and numb fingers in the winter at the dojo at Whitemans Green.
I'm currently living in Hove, working for an IT company and thinking of coming back to Karate later this year once I am a bit fitter and work is a bit less hectic. I hope to be in touch soon. Hi to all who remember me.
