With Truleigh Hill camp fast approaching now is a good time to reflect back on Bore Place camp 2008...
The theme for camp at Bore Place last year was 172,800, which was the amount of seconds that everyone would be spending at camp. We were all asked to think about how we spend each moment; happy, sad, angry, excited, injured, uncomfortable, tired, energized....etc.
All mobile phone we turned off and everyone was asked to be as discreet as possible if they needed to use one. Problems and injuries were discussed in private and openly talking about other peoples problems was not advised to cultivate a positive mind frame.

This created an atmosphere for good training and helped people focus on the moments they were there. A fantastic positive environment was created and even though the training was tough physically and mentally, there were smiles and tears of joy. All levels were pushed to their limits and abilities, with no buddy system at this camp everyone was encouraged to motivate and push themselves. With great support from the seniors and everyone helping each other a great sense of achievement was felt. |
